MUMBAI: Boxout.fm turns two with a three-day celebration featuring an all-Indian line-up of DJs and live acts in Delhi from April 5-7; show hosts and popular acts like Delhi Sultanate, Sarathy Korwar, Oceantied, Zokhuma, Kumail among others to play in the Capital next month
March 2019 – Ever since its launch in April 2017, Boxout.fm has nurtured a community passionate about new sounds and new voices. It is part of a global community of independently-run online radio stations that have amassed fans for their unwavering commitment to showcasing quality, independent music.
To celebrate completing two years of operations, Boxout.fm earlier in the year announced dates for the second edition of Boxout Weekender, to be held from April 5-7 in New Delhi.

The three-day celebration will simultaneously be held at two venues, Auro Kitchen & Bar and Summer House Cafe – two venues located within the same complex – making it easy for attendees to check out the different acts programmed. Also, the Delhi-based femme collective Coven Code will take over the rooftop at Summer House on Friday and Saturday, showcasing six of the collective’s DJs like Pia Collada, Priyam, Lush Lata, Shireen, Fadescha and Zequenx.
What to expect at Boxout Weekender 2019?
A highlight of Boxout Weekender – like last year – will be the spotlight it shines on Indian talent. Even more impressively, there will be no repeats from the 2018 line-up, demonstrating the pool of talent that the radio station has helped uncover, and introduced to listeners in India and around the world.
At the three-day event, Indian artists who host a show on Boxout.fm get top billing like Spryk, whose show Skip-A-Beat has become a discovery platform for new Indian music; reggae artist and activist Delhi Sultanate; London-based Indian percussionist and jazz musician Sarathy Korwar; London-based DJ, SUCHI; Delhi-based crew Sub-Z whose show Sub-Z Sessions showcases the full spectrum of UK bass music; Bangalore-based bass music producer with a penchant for ethnic sounds MALFNKTION, GIRLS NIGHT OUT which is human rights lawyer Vijayant Singh’s moniker; London-based selector IAMRISHA who introduces her listeners to global sounds on her five-year-old show, A Worldwide Thing.
Friday, which will focus on bass music and hip-hop will see acts like Spryk, SickFlip, MALFNKTION and Ezzyland at Auro; with Oceantied, Rohan Kalé, Sub-Z and a live set from Boxout.fm Recordings artist Corridors at Summer House.
On Saturday, the sonic sensibilities of Zokhuma, SUCHI, GIRLS NIGHT OUT, D80 and TRAFFICC will be on display at Auro while Summer House will host Drum Attic, Adam Rahman, Nishant G and Loni Electronics.
Day Three or Sunday will see a series of live performances at Auro including critically-acclaimed percussionist and composer Sarathy Korwar, electronica band FOPCHU, plus electronica producers Kumail and Native Indian, whose album Vol 1: Nature of the Self LP would release that weekend; with IAMRISHA, Delhi Sultanate, and Dubai-based SoulFood Project playing the venue’s terrace.
