MUMBAI: BIG FM continues to deliver clutter-breaking original content, on-air and digitally once again through the launch of Duck Se Dude. With cricket fever soon to grip the nation, the radio network is gearing up to launch India’s first audio and video series on radio as well as digital. The theme-based series will consist of nine original webisodes which will air on BIG Originals, every weekend throughout the upcoming cricket season. With this launch, BIG FM will expand its footprint in the digital domain and its repertoire of breakthrough content offerings comprising engaging and innovative content.
Duck Se Dude is the story of an introvert boy (Manjeet). He doesn’t have any friends and neither has he mustered the courage to speak to the girl he loves. He has grown up cognizant of his non-existence until he decides to seek help from an RJ (radio jockey) who hosts a popular late-night show. The RJ offers Manjeet a simple solution for all his problems – cricket, which transforms him from being a ‘duck’ to a ‘dude’. Duck Se Dude includes interesting and fun characters, each of whom depict a certain quirk or trait which adds to the overall appeal of the show.
On the soon to be launched web series, Thwink BIG Head Manish Karnatak says, “Cricket has become a part and parcel of our lives today and it is easy to strike a conversation and connect with a fellow cricketing enthusiast, even if she / he is a stranger. We used this insight for Duck Se Dude where although we are talking about real issues that typically a teenager may face, we’ve given it a ‘slice of life’ treatment where cricket is the backdrop. We are working with a fantastic team of writers who have done some great work in this space. We are sure the audience will be thoroughly entertained with what we have to offer.”

Experienced and talented writers, Abhijeet Khuman and Ashwin Verman, have written the show. Both are graduates from the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) and have specialized in direction and screenplay writing respectively. They have worked on feature films independently as well as content for shows by credible OTT media platforms.
Elaborating on their experience working with the BIG FM and Thwink team, they said, “When the story was narrated to us, we instantly agreed to write it. We have grown up watching cricket, and that made us connect well with the thought. While the background story revolves around cricket, the treatment given to this series and the objective that we are trying to achieve out of it is quite different. We are excited to work with BIG FM and the Thwink team for Duck Se Dude. We hope everybody watches it and loves the concept.”
Duck Se Dude has been conceptualized by BIG FM’s recently launched content incubator ‘Thwink BIG.’ The team aims at developing engaging concepts and making the radio network future-ready to scale innovations while unifying processes and opportunities.
