Udayswar@Prithvi is a rare and truly unique acoustic experience of Indian Classical Music in the manner it was originally designed, for an intimate Baithak. Based on the 8 Prahars (time spans) of the day, this Indian Classical Music concert features morning ragas of the 2nd Prahar performed by various artists.
SHOUNAK ABHISHEKI – VOCAL
A leading vocalist of the young generation, Shounak is the son and disciple of veteran vocalist Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki, whose music reflects a beautiful blend of Agra and Jaipur styles of Hindustani Classical Music. Carrying forward his father’s musical legacy, Shounak’s gayaki exhibits technical virtuosity coupled with an emotive appeal in his musical presentation. He has experimented with other genres of world music by being a part of leading fusion groups, like Vibgyor, Taal-Yatra, Miles from India and Sounds of India.
Apart from performing at prestigious festivals across India and abroad, Shounak has been a recipient of the Pandit Dinanath Mangeshkar Puraskar, Pandit Ram Marathe Award and the Balgandharva Puraskar to name a few.
