BFlat presents an evening of musical entertainment “Paree Forever” with Suneeta Rao. A singer, dancer and performing artist who has released 5 Hindi Pop albums to date, Suneeta Rao’s song and music video “Paree Hoon Main” made her an Indian household name, leading the press to affectionately crown her the “Paree of the Masses”.
Suneeta is arguably a pioneer in the field of independent Indian Pop music, having broken into a market in the early 90’s, which only knew Bollywood or Indian Classical music. Her music, all original compositions, is a combination of the Indian Classical training she has received, the rich folk music of India, and the Western Pop/Rock Music she has grown up listening to.
Her music is aptly described as Indian pop-rock fusion.
Suneeta is in the city to perform a mixed set that showcases her performance skills in Hindustani, Carnatic and Western pop music. She has hand-picked a group of stellar and senior local musicians to accompany her: Sanjay Chandrakanth (Guitar, Vocals), Shadrach Solomon (Keyboard), Shalini Mohan (Bass Guitar, Vocals), Wilfred Demoz (Drums) And Muthu Kumar (Tabla/Percussions).
The repertoire will include her original tunes as well as her interpretations of popular retro Hindi film song mash-ups with some wonderful surprises thrown in!
Her latest album, ‘WAQT’, and her new English single ‘You Say You Love Me’, have hit the charts with her unique blend of classical raga-based tunes with a very contemporary sound production.
