‘Guruve Namaha’ is a Sanskrit word which means ‘Namastey to our beloved Gurus’. On the auspicious day of Guru Purnima, Zakir Hussian and Rakesh Chaurasia will be performing together to pay an ode to their Gurus: Ustad Alla Rakha and Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, respectively.

Padma Shri Zakir Hussain is a famous Indian Musician. He is a great Tabla Maestro. Hussain is a founding member of Bill Laswell’s ‘World Music Supergroup’ Tabla Beat Science. In 2016, Zakir Hussain was among many legendary Jazz, World and Fusion musicians invited by President Obama to the International Jazz Day 2016 All-Star Global Concert at the White House.
Rakesh Chaurasia
Rakesh Chaurasia is an Indian Composer and flautist, who plays the Basuri, an Indian bamboo flute.
Rakesh’s flute has matched note and rhythm with wind instruments of other cultures as well as having performed ‘jugalbandis’ with Carnatic and the world famous instruments. His forte is in blending his flute without really losing its identity in mixed instruments concerts.
