Naresh Kamath (Kailasa / Hipnotribe / Bombay Black) Randolph Correia (Pentagram / Shaa’ir & Func) are coming together to form a Supergroup called MAAL who are launching their first gig this Friday.
NARESH KAMATH-One of the leading bass guitarists of India, Naresh Kamath is a part of the famous music group, Kailasa, along with his brother Paresh Kamath and the popular singer Kailash Kher. He, apart from being one of the engenderers of the band, has constantly struggled and been instrumental in escorting it to the insurmountable peak that ‘Kailasa’ now inhabits.In the thirty odd years that he has breathed on the face of the earth, he has lived in music, grown into it, and transformed his identity into one that is inseparably intertwined with music.
RANDOLPH CORREIA-Guitar hero, electronic producer, dub pioneer, graphic artist; Randolph Correia has a long line of credits to his name. Pentagram, a revolution in independent Indian music; starting off as their guitarist and producer over two decades ago, Randolph has produced hits like ‘Voice’, ‘Tomorrow’s Decided’ and ‘Nocturne’ for the band.
Shaa’ir + Func, formed with Monica Dogra in 2005, is another musical phenomenon with Randolph on guitar/production duties. He’s also composed music for television channels as well as for notable brands including Nokia, Sony and Levi’s, and has recently extended his music production to Bollywood.
