MUMBAI : Hip Hop/R&B inspired girl group XG released their 1st Mini Album “NEW DNA” on September 27th. The album has since achieved the girls’ first ever top position on the Billboard JAPAN Hot Albums (released on October 4th). Additionally, the track “NEW DANCE” from the same album has ranked in the Billboard Japan Hot100 for six consecutive weeks.
XG’s 1st Mini Album “NEW DNA” is a bold declaration of XG being a “new species” free from conventions. It serves as both the prologue to XG and a core XG album The album is available in two versions, “X Ver.” and “G Ver.,” released as a CD BOX.
“NEW DNA” has also reached the top position on Billboard JAPAN’s Download Albums chart (released on October 4th) and the latest Oricon Weekly Digital Album chart (as of October 9th). It has also made an impressive mark on global rankings, placing on the Apple Music Album Chart (200) in 57 countries and regions, reaching as high as 2nd place on Apple Music Album Chart (Worldwide). Additionally, the album has charted on the iTunes Album Chart in 18 countries and regions and achieved the highest position on the “Worldwide iTunes Album Chart.” The music video for the lead track “PUPPET SHOW,” released on YouTube, has also entered the YouTube Trending Charts in 18 countries and regions, XG have gone truly global.
