MUMBAI: Bollywood singer Mika Singh, who is known more for his controversies than his music, has found himself amidst another one. This time the ‘Jumme Ki Raat’ singer has been accused of cheating an event management firm owner of Rs 27 lakhs. According to reports, it led the company’s owner, Priyanka Chaddha to attempt suicide. Chaddha, a resident of Vastrapur, Ahmadabad, reportedly consumed sleeping pills, but was soon rushed to Sola Civil Hospital by her friends.
According to a statement given by Assistant Sub-Inspector of Vastrapur police station, K G Chavda, “A few days back, she gave an application at Naranpura police station alleging that Mika and six others have cheated her of Rs 27 lakh. She alleged that Mika took the money in advance, but dishonoured the commitment by giving dates to another company for today’s concert.”
Reports state that Chaddha and her partner had booked dates for Singh to perform in March, but due to an outbreak of swine flu, the event got cancelled. Singh had previously demanded Rs 37 lakhs to perform, out of which the event management firm paid Rs 27 lakhs.

As of now Chaddha’s condition is stable and the Vastrapur police have registered a non-cognisable (NC). “Since she consumed pills in our jurisdiction, we have taken her statement and registered an NC case. We will take necessary action if needed in this regard,” said Chavda.
