MUMBAI: They say age is just a number, and country artiste Willie Nelson is proving exactly that. The 81 year old will release his latest studio album which is titled ‘Band of Brothers’ on 17 June 2014. Nelson’s new album will feature 14 tracks that have never been heard before.
‘Band of Brothers’ is a follow up to the legendary singer’s 2013 album ‘To All the Girls’. It will be his first album in almost twenty years to feature new and original material. The album will debut the singer/ songwriter’s most recently penned tracks since his 1996 release ‘Spirit’. Speaking about getting back into writing, Nelson said in a statement, “I got on kind of a writing kick. It’s good to be writing again.”
One of the tracks from the new album ‘The Wall’ is already available on his website, and is currently available on digital platforms for download as well. Also included on the album are some of Nelson’s interpretations of ‘Whenever You Come Around’ by Vince Gill, ‘Songwriter’ by Bill Anderson and Gordie Sampson and ‘The Git Go’ by Billy Joe Shaver.

The new album is touted to be one of Nelson’s most personal albums till date. Producer Buddy Cannon has worked with Nelson on the upcoming album. The two have teamed up before as well for Nelson’s first three releases through Legacy Recording.
