Whitney Houston’s final recording ‘Celebrate’ released

MUMBAI: Multi-million soul singer Whitney Houston’s last recording ‘Celebrate’ has been released ahead of her upcoming film ‘Sparkle’.

Produced by R Kelly, the song is a duet with American Idol winner Jordin Sparks, recorded a few days before Houston’s tragic death on 11 February. The track is a breezy, dance-pop number about overcoming personal trials on the dance floor.

‘Sparkle’ a remake of the 1976 film of the same name, tells the story of three sisters who become stars. Houston plays Sparks’s mother in the movie and also stars singer Cee Lo Green. This role was Houston’s comeback on the big screen after 15-year hiatus. The soul singer earlier acted in movies like ‘The Bodyguard’ and ‘The Preacher’s Wife’.

The film will release by Sony Pictures Global on 17 August in US, followed by a UK release in the month of October.
