Swedish DJ duo Dada Life, which consists of Olle Corneer and Stefan Engblom, has grown in popularity since the launch of their debut album ‘Just Do the Dada’ in 2009. In addition to being known for a number of hit tracks, the two are also famous for some outrageous gigs that often involve a lot of bananas and champagne.
Their hits ‘Happy Violence’, ‘Rolling Stones T-shirt’, ‘Feed the Dada’ and ‘Unleash the F***ing Dada’ have earned them spots on DJ Magazine. The duo, currently on tour, has three shows scheduled next month in India. Radioandmusic.com speaks to Dada Life before their concerts in Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai and this is what they had to say.

This is your maiden trip to India. What do you have planned?
It is going to be amazing. It is always interesting to come to parts of the world where we have never toured before. But from seeing the reactions on social media we are sure that India is going to be crazy!
What have you heard about the EDM crazy crowd in India?
Just that you guys are ready to get ugly!
Will there be another pillow fight? Do you plan on breaking your Chicago record?
We have our plans, but it is too early to reveal them. It is all about happy violence. If people are happy enough, we do it! And we have decided to keep that record, so if someone comes along and does a bigger fight, we are ready to just beat them again. That record is ours.
How much champagne and bananas do you think you will need for India?
Not that much. We are humble. Maybe 50 kg of bananas and 20-30 bottles of champagne.
What do you have planned specially for India? Any new/unheard music you might perform?
We always have a few new songs that we try out, so you should always be ready for new stuff. When it comes to our shows, we never reveal what is going to happen. Sometimes even we do not know! It is about expecting the unexpected.
Tell us about your future plans
Next up, we have something called the Dada Land: Voyage Tour. We wanted to do something really different so we thought about the hot air balloon as a different way of touring. It is also going to be a musical voyage, with us playing the opening set early in the night with classic stuff – and then ending the whole thing with all the latest music! Now we just hope someone has figured out how to steer that thing so we can land in time for our set.
