MUMBAI: Warner Music Group Corp. has announced a series of corporate management appointments to identify and exploit growth opportunities in the evolving global music business.
The music company has elevated two of its top executives – Lyor Cohen and Michael D Fleisher – to the posts of vice chairmen.
Cohen who was head of Warner Music’s US recorded music, was also named chairman and CEO for recorded music in the Americas and the UK.
Former EVP and CFO Fleisher has been elevated to vice chairman of strategy and operations for the company. Fleisher will oversee global corporate strategy and operations and will lead the transformation of WMG’s business models and operational processes.
WMG’s former global controller Steven Macri is also promoted as EVP and CFO.
Cohen, Fleisher and Macri will report to Warner Music Group chairman and CEO Edgar Bronfman.
Also, WMI chairman and CEO Patrick Vien will leave the company.
Bronfman said, This new structure recognises the evolution of our business since WMG became a stand-alone music company in 2004, and is intended to drive our ability to seize new growth opportunities.
