MUMBAI: When you think of radio, one name that immediately comes to your mind is Ameen Sayani.
Well, we will hear his live voice no more. The veteran radio host passed away late last night. He was 91. He hosted the ever so popular Geetmala on Radio Ceylon which gathered Indian masses Later he stepped into the shoes of his brother Hamid Sayani when he passed away to be the voice of Bournvita Quiz Contest.
Sayani was also the voice behind many a radio jingle and TV commercial. His passing is an irreparable loss to the now challenged world of radio. He is survived by his son Rajil Sayani.
