NEW DELHI: The Bharati Gurukul, which aims to revive the guru-shishya parampara (tradition) of learning, will feature sitar maestro Vidushi Manju Mehta from 10 October on DD Bharati.
Until now, renowned veena Instrumentalist Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt had been imparting the one-to-one training on the channel.
The weekly programme will commence from 10 October at 9 pm with repeat telecast on Sunday at 1 pm.

As a Guru, she mentors and inspires not just students who have taken up sitar but other forms of instrumental music such as sarod and flute as well. Her spontaneous creativity, rhythmic control, exquisite balance and proportion flows naturally through the strains of her sitar. She has been mentoring aspiring sitarists for the last 35 years.
Bharati Gurukul aims to revive classical music learning in the Gurukul style of teaching and imparting training to young artistes. The programme series has been conceived with a view to impart training in Hindustani Classical Music by the music maestros and stalwarts in their specialised field both vocal and instrumental music.
The Ahmedabad-based Manju Mehta, a disciple of her elder brother Pandit Shashi Mohan Bhatt as well as Pandit Damodarlal Kabra and Pandit Ravi Shankar, is a world-travelled musician.
