MUMBAI: Vh1 and Nokia unveiled the video for their initiative `Nokia & Vh1 Shot By U` for the Scorpion`s song `Humanity`.
The video for Humanity title track was made by putting together user generated content. The Scorpions` launched their new album `Humanity` in May this year and the video created by the viewers and Vh1 will air on Vh1 and MTV India from 7 December onwards.
Vh1 received over a 1000 entries from all over India. The three minute music video currently on air is a collage of the best suited videos for `Humanity`.
The first `Shot By U` initiative was made in collaboration with popular Indian rock band Pentagram.
Commenting on the final outcome, MTV India VP marketing Aditya Swamy said, ” `Shot By U` is the platform created for Nokia to establish music leadership by riding the UGC wave. After a very positive response to part 1 we now are thrilled to move this initiative into overdrive in Season 2. Scorpions are one of the most sought after bands in the world and through this initiative; consumers get to be a part of rock history. This is true to the DNA of brand Vh1, India`s only international music and lifestyle brand.”
Nokia India head of brand marketing Shefali Chhachhi said, “Nokia & Vh1`s partnership is a perfect extension of our Xpress Music proposition , aimed at giving young talent an opportunity to express themselves whilst they experiment with music and technology and do the music in their own way.
“With the power of mobility, music enthusiasts will surely have an interesting experience by capturing, sharing and editing their interpretations and facilitating the creation of the Indian version of legendary rock band Scorpions` latest music video `Humanity`.”
Launched two months ago through the `Shot By U` initiative, viewers were invited to capture creatively on their camera phones incidents that affect them or make a difference to their lives. The best and most relevant of the video clips have been selected, integrated and treated by Vh1 to create the music video.
