NEW DELHI: Prasar Bharati Chief Executive Officer Shashi Shekhar Vempati has assumed the additional responsibility as CEO of Rajya Sabha Television.
This follows the acceptance of the resignation of Gurdeep Singh Sappal. Vempati assumed charge today.
The order to this effect was issued by Rajya Sabha Deputy Secretary Amit Kumar.

In a separate tweet, Vempati said he looked forward to “guidance and advice of Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu garu”.
A senior technocrat, Vempati had been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Prasar Bharati in June this year.The appointment in the pubcaster is for a period of five years.
Gurdeep Singh Sappal was the Chief Executive Officer and Editor-in-Chief of Rajya Sabha TV and also the Officer on Special Duty to the Vice President of India and worked as his aide and political advisor.
