MUMBAI: Fresh off the premiere of her new track ‘Be Free’, singer/songwriter Vasuda Sharma has revealed that she will join veteran female guitarist Geetu Hinduja, who will lead an all female music group, for a one-night only event scheduled to be held in blueFROG Mumbai in June.
Speaking to Radioandmusic.com about the new track, Sharma said, “‘Be Free’ is based on women from different facets of life. It features women from different age groups in all possible fields – fisherwomen, housewives, schoolgirls. I wanted to show women from all the walks of life doing their daily chores. We went to all the places and spoke to as many women and girls as we could. While speaking to them, some were ecstatic to be in front of a camera, while others were really shy. Some were even yelling and screaming at us and could not wait for us to go away,” said Sharma. “All in all, it was a really good experience,” she added.
The music video was created by Culture Machine, the multichannel network, which is known for creating digital content for singer Neha Kakkar and comedy act Enna Da Rascalas. Of her association with Culture Machine for ‘Be Free’, Sharma said, “The entire concept for the video was curated and executed by Culture Machine. They were the ones who brought it all together and made the music video possible.”

Sharma was last seen performing at the YouTube FanFest with the band SANAM, a performance she refers to as “quite an experience”. “I loved interacting with Sanam and his band,” stated Sharma on the collaboration which she premiered at YTFF.
The indie singer also revealed that before releasing the music video for ‘Be Free’, she was supposed to release a music video for her track ‘Barsan Laage Nain’. However, due to some reasons, the release has been postponed, and it will be out in May. Sharma also stated that currently she is hard at work on her new EP. “So far, the EP is only two songs down, so it is going to take a while before I release it, because when I do come up with something new, I want it to be up to the mark,” she added.
