MUMBAI: Indian media professionals looking for the perfect soundtrack for their campaigns and shows on TV and radio can now refer to the new tailored website of Universal Publishing Production Music (UPPM). Production music consists of high quality pre-written and recorded soundtracks not generally available to the public. The website has features like a tag filter search system, making searches for tracks easier.
This website is currently functional and has over 190,000 original compositions and carries exclusive music from libraries such as BBC Production Music, Peter Gabriel’s Real World, the Best of Reverb Nation, and recently added thirty albums compiled from the best of Deutsche Grammophon. UPPM India creative services head Faustin Missier said, “The website has a mix of various types of music from many musicians which will be of interest for many professionals.” He further added, “As media professionals know, time is always of the essence and the search for the right music often causes significant time delays on projects. Quality production music is now readily available within India, giving production companies a new alternative when they need high quality music that is cost effective and extremely easy to license.”
Within a year, UPPM India managed to ink deals with broadcasters, FMCG brands and Indian author- Amish Tripathi for the audio trailer of his book. The company licensed music to different ad agencies for 12 jingles across the country. It has also inked a deal with a couple of Bollywood films, which will use the Production Music as background score. Commenting on the shift on sync, Missier said, “In the last one year, I have seen sync grow from almost zero per cent with regards to non-popular tracks. In India, sync was only for popular songs.” The company will have a strong backing of new musicians who will be signed under its Publishing department. Talking about the music content on the site, Missier said that Production Music will look at creating a niche for local audiences and will sign many local composers to create Indian music, which is not limited to South and North India.
