MUMBAI: Jens Kessler has been promoted as the chief information officer of Universal Music Group (UMG). He will report to UMG’s executive vice-president and CFO Boyd Muir.
Based in Los Angeles, Kessler will be responsible for all aspects of UMG’s global information technology (IT) division, managing the strategy, development and implementation of all the country and regional IT systems.
Muir said, “Throughout his tenure at UMG, Jens has proven himself to be an innovative and pragmatic executive with the essential hands-on-experience and skill set to oversee this key area of our global business. We’re delighted to recognize his achievement with this well-deserved promotion.”
Kessler began his career at UMG as IT vice-president at Universal Music Germany. He was later promoted to vice-president of IT, supply chain and sourcing at Universal music group International’s London headquarters.
