MUMBAI: Strengthening its foothold in the Malayalam music market, Universal Music has released the audio of yet another Malayalam film ‘Arike’.
Composed by National Award winner Ouseppachan, the album comprises of five tracks which have been penned by Shibu Chakravarthy and rendered by Karthik, Srinivas, Manjari, Mamta Mohandas, Sweta Mohan and Nithyashree.
Ouseppachan said, “It’s a great pleasure that UMG has entered into Malayalam music industry. The specialty about the songs is that all of them are composed after the situations had been pictured, which is why the songs are so close to the movie. I am really proud to be a part of this film; it is one of the best I have seen in my career.”
Universal Music Group general manager P K Prasannan said, “The songs of ‘Arike’ are very youthful and are sung by well-known singers. The tracks are beautifully composed by Ouseppachan. The songs will be made available on CDs and for downloads across all mobile platforms including Nokia, Flipkart, iTunes, Amazon and more. They will also be released internationally by Universal through its global offices.”
The film, based on a famous Bengali short story by Sunil Gangopadhayay, is directed by Shyamaprasad.
