MUMBAI: Universal Music Group (UMG) has appointed Rand Levin as senior VP business and legal affairs. Levin will report to UMG EVP and general counsel Jeffrey Harleston.
In his new role, Levin will look after entertainment industry and corporate agreements. He will be based in UMG’s Santa Monica headquarter and will be actively involved in corporate content acquisitions and other strategic initiatives.

Speaking about the appointment Harleston said, “Ever since he joined UMG, Rand has consistently demonstrated leadership and real commitment to handling a variety of legal issues and putting the experience that he has gained throughout his career to our benefit. Earlier, Levin has served as senior VP business and legal affairs for Universal Motown Republic Group and Island Def Jam Records Group.
