MUMBAI: Out of the 20 talented contestants that were handpicked for the singing reality show – ‘The Stage’, few contestants could get an opportunity to work with Universal Music India and EMI Records India, revealed Universal Music Group and EMI Music, South Asia, MD and chief executive officer, Devraj Sanyal, during the launch of ‘The Stage’ at Hard Rock Cafe.

Sanyal said, “I might probably sign few contestants, because they are so talented.” One of the show’s contestants has also landed a song in an OST of a Hollywood project that is slated to release in 2016. Yet another contestant has signed a deal with EMI Records India and Sanyal revealed that the contestant “will be hopefully launched in January-February.”

Sanyal, who happens to be one of the judges on the show, added that the label will put in all its might to take all the handpicked contestants from the show, including winner, to a new level which includes giving them A-list treatment and media coverage. “As far as the label is concerned, we intend to take this very seriously,” he added.
