MUMBAI: Irish Rock band U2 is yet again supporting another cause. This time the Grammy Award winning band will help to build the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital. The band is supporting the foundation-Legacy of Hope and its campaign to construct a fifth hospital dedicated to children in the African continent.
Frontman- Bono, who was injured in a cycling incident has been recuperating following an intensive surgery, but has still offered support. He has autographed one of the Edge’s acoustic guitars for the foundation, and added an inscription on the guitar that says, “There’s no them there’s only us!”
The foundation was created in 2012, a year before Mandela passed away. The foundation deals with healthcare reform for children worldwide and has garnered the support of numerous artists, celebrities and civil rights leaders.

The band has been involved in charities like Make Poverty History, the ONE Campaign, Live Aid, Live 8, Bono’s DATA (Debt, AIDS, Trade in Africa) campaign and Music Rising, in the past.
