Shree Shani Jagrata is a devotional album in praise of Lord Shani. The album is conceived and produced by Dr. Vibhashree, who is known to be the only female worshipper of Shani in the world, as it is believed that only men should worship Shani.
The album consists of Shani Bhajans composed by none other than the veteran composer Shri Pyarelal Sharma of Lakshmikant-Pyarelal fame. Popular singers such as Kavita Krishnamurthy, Shail Hada, Devaki Pandit, Bela Shende and Shrikant Narayan have lent their voice to the songs.
Shani is one of the Navagraha which are the nine primary celestial beings in Hindu astrology. Shani is embodied in the planet Saturn. Shani is the Lord of Saturday. Shani gives us the results of one’s deeds through one’s life through appropriate punishments and rewards. Shani Dev is said to be very harmful to those who follow the path of betrayal, backstabbing and unjust revenge. He is known in Hindu scriptures as the greatest trouble giver as well as the greatest well wisher.
