MUMBAI: Bumble, the women-first social networking app, today announced an industry-first initiative called ‘Levelling The Charts’ to address the challenge of gender disparity and lack of opportunity in the music industry by partnering with trailblazing Indian music artists: Anushka Manchanda, Dhvani Bhanushali and Raja Kumari. Women are vastly underrepresented in the music business—from producers and agents to songwriters and managers according to the Global USC Annenberg’s 2019 survey report.
The ‘Levelling The Charts’ campaign taps into the power of connections and opportunities by offering up-and-coming musicians the chance to be mentored by successful artists including GRAMMY®-nominated Raja Kumari, Anushka Manchanda (Nuka), or Dhvani Bhanushali. The campaign will be available for all users in the Bumble app who identify as a woman on all modes (Date, BFF, and Bizz) from 19th June to 1st July. The campaign will culminate with winners receiving an hour-long mentorship opportunity with Raja Kumari, Anushka, or Dhvani.
