MUMBAI: Tanishk Bagchi who has won hearts with songs like Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya, Banno, The Humma song, has had his songs running on success charts in 2018. With a massive year, Tanishk has had a good workflow we get you a chain of thoughts on how he’s expressed the success he’s received this year.
On being asked, how the entire year 2018 has been, he mentions, “This year was big. I had started my career off with two three tracks, so every year new challenges were in for me. But, the best thing about this year is that there were many dance tracks, and it was quite challenging for me as I initially did romantic songs.”
We all know, Tanishk is a great music composer and we did ask him about music direction and composition, “There is a very thin line between direction and composition. With what I learnt from my dad is, earlier, when music directors used to arrange music, they used to have the entire score of song arranged and written down. The intention behind making the song was different. It was not just to make a hit song, but they used to be a part of the entire film. And now, we are searching for hit songs. If now Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya is there then we need some other Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya song nobody can break that thing. When you talk about composition, it involves making music. I do everything myself, from composition to direction to writing, dubbing and mixing the song.

Tanishk speaks on the time he initially started, “Initially when I started producing, I used to get stuck if someone else has given me a composition as there are many limitations on that. I couldn’t experiment much, but when I started composing, I started experimenting in my stuff. These days it is more about music production than composing and direction.”
On being asked about challenges, he faced this year, Bagchi said, “I had to compose dance tracks and it has very limited beats. If you go by current scenario, everybody is doing tropical songs, but I changed the trend with a softer tone. I always try to do something hatke from whatever generic is there. Even when Aankh Maare came up, it is a south flavored song with a lot of quirk in it. I want to make my own trend.”
Tanishk is known for his mind-blowing recreation. But, there are many people who question him on why he does these many recreations. On this, he adds, “I have done original songs. which have been number one like Baarish. Also, at the same time, I have done recreations as there is a trend as people want them and are enjoying the track too. Also, they do build a connection between the old and the young generation and I am mostly for it. I want to make my own trend. Earlier I did not want to do a recreation. I had to question myself because if I did not do it then somebody else will do the song and I don’t know what they will do. There are a lot of songs that failed as well as the ones for which, I got an opportunity, but couldn’t do as I did not have time. I make it a point that if a song comes to me, I will give my 100 percent honest effort. I will not spoil the track; instead, I will pay a tribute to them.
