MUMBAI: ‘The Stage Season 2’ contestant Raghav Meattle moved out of the show in its semi-final stage and now he is spreading his musical wings in the real world. The singer has completed a music video titled ‘Boring, I Love You’ that will be releasing soon.
Talking about his upcoming single Meattle says, “As a singer-songwriter, you’re often asked for dedications, tributes to the people you love. The song talks about how you’d never be able to write a song for someone you really love, because it’s too cheesy and cliché. A simple, boring ‘I love you’ should do the trick too. It’s ironic because it’s ultimately a love song and ends up being the exact same thing.”
He adds, “The idea and a part of the lyrics of the song came from a friend Neelie Chikhlikar, and I built on this emotion and lyrics of the song. The idea of the video was to create a song for the deaf and dumb. A song that reaches out to them, where they can relate to the lyrics of the song.”

Meattle is a singer-songwriter based out of New Delhi and he likes making ‘simple and catchy’ music. The ex-Stage contestant has six years of musical experience under which he has performed at gigs in Mumbai and other cities. But, the past six years saw Meattle juggling between two professions – his corporate job and music. “I used to do a lot of gig during my college days post which I shifted to Hyderabad and took a full-time job. A year and a half from there I created a corporate band Meattle & Malik.”
This turned out to be the second inning of the singers musical career. Everyone applauded the band and it kept busy. This is also when Meattle felt the need to quit his job and focus on music. “The timing of ‘The Stage 2’ audition and me putting down my papers turned out to be right and I came on the show,” reveals the singer who wants to come down to Mumbai to try his luck in music.
Meattle is currently in Delhi busy writing songs as he just has a year in hand. “I have given myself a year to make it in the music scene. I can get back to my corporate job, if I don’t succeed, but I am not looking at any backups at the moment. I will start knocking the music doors once in Mumbai,” explains the young man.
