BANGLORE: Level III is an initiative to bring Bangalore city the best of non-commercial electronic music talent, both from across the country, and internationally. It is curated by our in house music director, Rishi Sippy, along with a network of international artists.
This week’s Level III gig is seriously huge. Sanctum presents the legend that is Anil Chawla. His steady stream of ear catching, high quality house music demos had London’s promoters on their toes. Securing residency at the acclaimed Turnmills club in London, he is accredited with warming up for the royalty of electronica- from The Chemical Brothers, to Fatboy Slim,Francois K, Josh Wink, Green Velvet, Simian Mobile Disco, Mylo, Hot Chip, MSTRKRFT, and Cassius.
Dance music bastions Global Underground soon picked up on his skill, cashing in on a series of excellent singles and his ground breaking debut album ‘Roadhouse’. The label has taken him around the world on tours across Argentina, Peru, Guatemala, Frankfurt, Australia, Dubai, Miami, Egypt, Amsterdam, Philippines, Ukraine and the UK, not to mention his separate appearances at Pete Tong’s Wonderland in Ibiza, and in countries including Mexico, Russia, USA, Spain, India, Lithuania, Georgia, Austria, Poland, Sweden, Italy and the Channel Islands.

Deep melodic funk, and freaky acid house form part of his repertoire.The release will be available Mid November on CD and across all digital platforms. The Directions India tour will see Anil Chawla spreading dance music to newer territories in the country over this winter in support of the release. His productions continue to gain support from industry bastions across the globe from Richie Hawtin to Laurent Garnier, John Digweed, and many others.
