MUMBAI: Mumbai-based alternative pop/rock band- The Colour Compound plans to release its first official music video for the track ‘Porcelain People’. The track is from the band’s debut album ‘From Where We Stand’, which was released last May. The Colour Compound is also working on releasing a live album featuring unreleased tracks, confirmed vocalist and electric guitarist Bradley Tellis.

Speaking about the video Tellis said, “There is no storyline in the music video, but it is very good to watch. It is graphically very appealing.” The video, which does not have a release date yet, has been created and designed by Rahul Dias, Creative Head/Owner of Luhar Said Creative. “The video is done, but we are just trying to figure out how and when should we release it. We are still thinking about either premiering the video during a gig or separately,” he stated. When pushed for a tentative release date, Tellis said, “We will hopefully release it by the end of April.”

Soon after the music video, The Colour Compound is planning to release a live album. “The live album will feature all nine songs from ‘From Where We Stand’ and a few songs from our first EP ‘Sincerely Yours’, and a few more songs that have not been recorded and that we feel work better in a live setting,” said Tellis.

When asked whether the live album sounds different, Tellis stated, “The sound is quite different. Even though some of the songs are from the previous album, the tempo of the songs has been slowed down for the live album.” It was recorded at Warren Mendonza’s Cotton Press Studios, where limited family members and friends were invited to watch the intimate setting called ‘Sessions From The Press’. “The intimate setting works well for us in two ways: first, since you are performing at a studio, the sound is clear, and second, because it is an intimate setting, it is solely about the music. We can also tell stories and information about each track,” added Tellis.

Regarding the music of The Colour Compound, Tellis said, “We make simple music with simple guitar rhythms and a melody that carries.” He further added, “Our song writing process is very natural, we do not force it. When someone has an idea, we get together and write; we are always writing that way.”

The Colour Compound features Rohan Mazumdar and Tellis on guitar, while occasionally splitting lead vocal duties, Adil Kurwa on bass and Aditya Ashok on drums, percussion and backing vocals.
