MUMBAI: Sharvi Yadav who hails from Noida, was declared the winner of India’s only English talent hunt show on television, yesterday 20 November 2016, emerging tops among the four finalists.
This 21 year old, who considers herself as a brat who lost her voice for almost a year, says that was the most terrible phase of her life. About winning the crown at The Stage 2 she said, “It feels different, it feels all the hardship paid off. My family has been encouraging the whole time but my father used to think music is just a leisure pursuit, it can’t be taken as a career option. However, he is so proud me of now. It feels so nice when the only man in your life treats you properly.”?

Sharvi, who has a strong craving for ‘individuality’, works towards portraying the same in her style of singing. She said “I never took anyone as a competition as everyone has their distinctive style of singing. Personally, I liked Arunaja Nalinakshana and Abhishek Gurung Lemo, as both of them are extremely versatile.”
A grade 5 Trinity College of Music graduate with distinction, Sharvi is also a pianist. She has completed her Jazz Program under Berkley College of Music and Manhattan School of Music graduates as well. An aficionado of jazz music, Sharvi thinks that fondness for music of any particular genre keeps changing as one grows. “It’s all about the zone and genre you are listening for the most part. I used to listen to Beyonce, Whitney Houston and nowadays I am hooked on to jazz, blues and rock, she says.
While talking about her early days, Sharvi says she got into music when she was in school and her music teacher Tracy Fernandes encouraged her in her course of action. Her teacher was so taken in after listening to her singing in the all house school competitions, that she included her in the school band. “I was the youngest of the lot. I believe the teacher-student bond is one the best connections in the world. The biggest thing from The Stage 2 I’m taking is motivation and gratitude.” says Sharvi.
Fond of Vishal Dadlani’s energy and Monica Dogra’s soul spirit, Sharvi said Ehsaan makes things out of the ordinary and motivating.
This year is indeed a remarkable one for this Delhi girl. As the champion, Sharvi takes home a shining Renault Kwid, and a chance to sign a record deal with Universal Music.
