MUMBAI: DJ Khushi Soni and music director, Shashi Suman, who recently dropped their debut single, High Court, spoke exclusively about the song, their association with VYRL Originals and more, in an exclusive interview with Radioandmusic.

On being asked, what the new song all about, the duo revealed, “Our new song High Court is all about kick-starting the New Year with a light-hearted fun Punjabi urban pop song. The most unusual part about the song is its name. When we got together we often thought how we will break the clutter, so we decided to make songs on relatable topics which would make you wonder how someone could make a song on such a topic. High Court was not just our favorite song but everyone’s who heard it for the first time.”

“It was amazing but definitely not easy. The biggest challenge was the production of the song. We made many versions of this song but weren’t really convinced with the final outcome. Our friends Upside Down and Iconyk helped us in the kickass production and we were able to crack it in the first go with them. Everyone loved the song and we decided this should be our first song,” both commented on their experience of working on the song.
On their collaboration with VYRL Originals, “We absolutely love the team. They make us feel really comfortable and give us our creative freedom. When we met Vinit Thakkar for the first time, he not only understood our vision but also wanted to mentor us to make it a reality. Their team is amazing. Devraj Sanyal himself is a rockstar and he understands what young independent musicians need. The entire experience has been outstanding.”
When it comes to their upcoming projects, the duo revealed, “We have kick-started the year with High Court but we have a lot of new music coming up. We should be out with our next song hopefully in the next two months, on VYRL originals. We also plan to release some of our passion projects on our YouTube channel. You will hear a lot of music from us in 2019.”
Shashi Ranjan and DJ Khushi Soni are also coming up with another song with VYRL Originals.
On this, they signed off, “Can’t share the name yet but I can assure you the name is unusual as this one. It’s going to be a fun party song again. We are very excited and can’t wait for you and everyone to hear it.”
