Taylor swift sweeps top honour at CMA awards

MUMBAI: Country pop singer Taylor Swift received the ‘Entertainer of the Year’ title at Country Music Association Awards 2011.

After Barbara Mandrell, Swift is the second woman to receive â€?Entertainer of the Year’ twice at the CMAs. The country pop singer was nominated along with Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley and Keith Urban.

Brand Perry received three CMA titles – â€?Best New artistes,’ â€?Single of the Year’ and Song of the Year for â€?If I Die Young.’ Jason Aldean bagged two awards â€?Album of the Year’ for his platinum-selling album â€?My Kinda Party’ and â€?Musical Event of the Year’ for his duet with Kelly Clarkson â€?Don’t You Wanna Stay.’

Other artistes to win the honour were Lady Antebellum, Sugarland, Kenny Chesney, Grace Potter, Shelton and wife Miranda Lambert.

The award show hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood witnessed performances by top country artistes including Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Lionel Richie, Williams’ ire, Gregg Allman, Zac Brown and many more.
