MUMBAI: Nominated stars Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj and the band Linkin Park will perform at the American Music Awards (AMA) to be held next month.
Minaj has four nominations including ‘Favorite Female Pop-Rock’ artist while Swift, the pop-country star whose new album, ‘Red,’ is expected to top the Billboard album chart next week, has been nominated for ‘Favorite Female Country Artist’, while veteran heavy-rock band Linkin Park, has been nominated for ‘Alternative Rock’ award.
Pop star and ‘The Voice’ judge Christina Aguilera, who announced the nominees, was the first performer to be announced for the live show.

R&B star Rihanna and rapper Minaj have lead the nominee pack with four nominations each. Artist-of-the-Year nominees for 2012 are Justin Bieber, Drake, Maroon 5, Katy Perry and Rihanna. The New-artist-of-the-Year nominees include J Cole, fun., Gotye, Carly Rae Jepsen and One Direction. Organizers have also added an electronic dance music category with nominees including David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Skrillex.
The AMA winners are determined by fans through online voting. The awards will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year and the ceremony and performance show will broadcast live from Los Angeles on 18 November.
