MUMBAI: Once again, the cream of Bollywood titles is headed the T-Series way. The music label has snapped up music rights of two highly anticipated films – Raju Hirani’s Aamir Khan starrer 3 Idiots, as well as Ken Ghosh’s Shahid Kapoor starrer Yahoo.
3 Idiots is scheduled for a Christmas release while Yahoo is likely to be released by the end of this year, or early next year.
Also in T-Series’ kitty is Blue, the Tony D’Souza film for which A R Rahman has compiled the score and pop star Kylie Minogue has lent her voice in one of the tracks.
While news had been floating that the 3 Idiots music could be acquired by Sony Music, T-Series has managed to rope it in, at an undisclosed cost. Last year, the music major had an impressive line up of Bollywood music titles including ‘Chandni Chowk To China’, ‘Dev D’, ‘Billu’, ‘Delhi 6’, ‘8 x 10 Tasveer’, ‘Luck’, ‘Jashnn’. Vishal Bharadwaj’s Kaminey, set for release in August, has also been snapped up by T-Series.
The music of the Vidhy Vinod Chopra production 3 Idiots has been composed by Shantanu Moitra, while Yahoo, produced by UTV Spotboy, has a music score done by Adnan Sami.
