T-Series’ Meri Aashiqui recalls thrilling experience of shooting in Meghalaya prior to the lockdown

MUMBAI: After giving the audience varied entertainment through their many songs in the past months, music giant T-Series is all set to release their next single Meri Aashiqui featuring Jubin Nautiyal, Ihana Dhillon, and Altamash Faraz. Meri Aashiqui is a tale of star-crossed lovers and Jubin’s fans will get to see the singer unleash a new dimension to his acting prowess where he essays a character who has lost his love.

Apart from the Jubin’s acting, there’s one more USP of the song which will mesmerize the audience. The song has been shot at the picturesque locales of Meghalaya. Known as ‘The Land Of Clouds’, the location gave the team a thrilling experience, especially since the video was shot just prior to the enforcement of the nationwide lockdown.

Sharing about the shoot and his acting debut, Jubin says, “Meri Aashiqui is very special for me. It challenged me as an actor. We shot this in Meghalaya’s Dawki town. I had to get up at three in the morning for a perfect shot. I enjoyed shooting in Dawki, I even got to witness a local band’s performance there. I learned something new from them and about their music. This entire journey of Meri Aashiqui has been a memorable one and I hope that the audience enjoys the song as much as we did.”

Actress Ihana Dhillon says, “Meri Aashiqui was a mind-blowing experience! Acting with Jubin was something new for me as we have mostly seen him in the recording studio, but yes, he is superb actor too. The location of the shoot for the video is the second most reason of why this song is so special to me. Meghalaya was just fascinating.”

Director Ashish Panda who has helmed Meri Aashiqui says, “Ihana is a very fine actor and Jubin too completely amazed me with his hard work. The way he has expressed himself in the video will surely give his fans one more reason to love him. I was too excited to shoot Meri Aashiqui in Meghalaya. When we were shooting, the lockdown was being planned, so a lot of beautiful destinations were not available. Apart from this, we had to take the natural cycles there into consideration too. The sun used to rise at 05:00 am so we had to reach our location before that. My cinematographer had his work cut out for him as we had to shoot according to available light. It was still fun to shoot there! I would love to shoot in Meghalaya again post lockdown.”

Sung by Jubin Nautiyal, penned by Rashmi Virag, composed by Rochak Kohli and directed by Ashish Panda, Meri Aashiqui features Jubin Nautiyal, Ihana Dhillon and Altamash Faraz. The song will be released on 3rd June on T-Series’ YouTube channel. Stay tuned!
