MUMBAI: Senior EVP and Business Head of Live Viacom, Jaideep Singh continues to emphasise on the three pillars that proved essential for the growth of the several live IPs. Live Viacom’s flagship dance music festival- Supersonic- kicks off in four days and Singh emphasises on elements that helped escalate its outreach.
The ‘Spectrum’ stage at Supersonic ’15, Goa, will be curated by the Dutch techno brand Awakenings this year. Considered as one of the biggest dance music festivals in the world, the brand will associate with Supersonic this year, to bring what Singh promises as ‘the best possible techno line-up.’
With several extensions, Supersonic focused on bigger markets by spreading its outreach through clubs, campuses and smaller markets. In addition, Supersonic CDs enhance the experience in a smarter way by showcasing it to a larger audience. However, this year’s main event at Goa will introduce the Dutch organisers for the four-day event.

Speaking about the development, Singh said, “Awakenings are one of the best curators in the world, and their association with Supersonic assures what we are trying to achieve. Music is the key and we have tried to keep that intact in our previous two editions. The 2015 Supersonic will see the best techno line-up in Asia. We have focused on the artists who never came before or never came for a long time. The line-up is unique, so we don’t give what you have seen before. In short, a balanced line-up is vital.”
The line-up for the Spectrum Stage for the four days includes (in order of performances): Kohra, Arjun Vagale, Ida Engberg, Bart Skills, Adam Beyer, Baba Robijn, Blot!, Kolsch, Nic Fancuilli, Joris Voorn, Bl@nk, Tuhin Mehta, Joran Van Pol, Paul Ritch, Luigi Madonna, Raghav Holla, Praveen Achary, Yotto, Pearl, Marc Romboy vs Stephan Bodzin, Grum.
Singh informed, “Some of the artists had never performed before. Getting same names will kill the genre.”
Kicking off at 3:30 p.m. every day during the festival, the Spectrum/Awakenings stage promises a musical treat and unique experience for the attendees and certainly could justify the hype.
Awakenings join the Supersonic Festival as an additional stage to the main stage curated by MC Stretch, with UKF and Arms House returning after impressing the Supersonic faithful, last year.
Expanding its wings outside Netherlands, Awakenings entered in London a year ago. With massive artist roster under its belt, Awakenings has produced events on an unparalleled level in the techno space for last 14 years.
