MUMBAI: Coinciding with the ninth death anniversary of lyricist Anand Bakshi, Subhash Ghai has decided to film a documentary on him.
The two, who shared a great bond both in their professional and personal lives, worked together on films like Yaadein, Pardes and Trimurti
Born in Rawalpindi, Bakshi was a preferred lyricist for many directors, having written Dum Maro Dum in Dev Anand’s Hare Rama Hare Krishna. Bakshi had also written lyrics for the first films of stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff and Rishi Kapoor among others.

Bakshi always wanted to be a singer and he fulfilled his wish by singing the duet ‘Baaghon Mein Bahaar Aayi’ along with Lata Mangeshkar in the 1972 film Mom ki Gudiya. He also sung some lines of ‘Ke Aaja Teri Yaad Ayi’ from the Ramanand Sagar film Charas.
Bakshi’s last film as lyricist was in the much delayed Mehbooba (2008), for which he had worked before expiring on 30 March 2002. He was 81 then.
