MUMBAI: It is almost a given that children of rich and famous celebrities will get a share of their parents fortunes. However, Grammy winning icon- Sting has revealed that that might not be the case for his children. The former frontman of new wave rock band- ‘The Police’ said that his children would not be getting any trust funds from his staggering fortune, if there would be any left.
The 62 year old implied that his wealth could be a rather unfortunate thing for his six children, calling it “albatrosses” around their necks. In an interview with the Daily Mail, the ‘Roxanne’ singer said he told his children that there would be no money left for them because it was being spent.
The Sunday Times Rich List estimated Sting’s wealth amounted to about $306 million. Regardless of that, the singer/songwriter claimed that he has not spoilt his kids rotten. “People make assumptions, that they were born with a silver spoon in their mouth, but they have not been given a lot,” he said.

Sting, who in addition to his Grammys has also won a Golden Globe, Emmy Award and three Brit awards, grew up near a shipbuilding yard in England. His early days is said to have influenced his musical ‘The Last Ship’. Sting’s last studio album, his eleventh, was based on the play and released on 24 September 2013.
