Sony to premiere Indian Idol 4 on 19 September

MUMBAI: Filling up its weekend prime time, Sony Entertainment Television (Set) is launching the fourth seaon of Indian Idol 4 on 19 September at 9 pm.

Produced by Miditech, the music based reality show will replace Sony’s big ticket show Dus Ka Dum which ends on 13 September.

Says Set EVP and business head Albert Almeida, Last year we received 100 million votes in the final episode. The episode peaked up to 5 TVR. Over the past three seasons, the show has broken its own viewership and voting records. The show has captured the imagination of the youth and hence this year we are back to target the aspirations of young India….

Indian Idol 4 will have two new judges, actress Sonali Bendre and singer Kailash Kher. They will be joined by music director Anu Malek and lyricist Javed Akhtar.

Indian Idol 3 contestants will host the episodes featuring auditions.

This year a host of experts will groom the Indian Idol aspirants who have been selected after auditions held in 18 cities including London and Dubai. Mickey Mehta will take care of physical fitness of contestants.

Taking a 360 degree approach, the channel has designed an extensive marketing push to promote the philosophy of competition with fun and friendship. The message will be conveyed through a marketing campaign with a tagline of â€?Yeh Style, Yeh Music, Yeh World Humara Hai’.

IBN7 has been roped in as TV partner and Radio Mirchi is the radio partner.
