MUMBAI: After T-Series created history with the online music launch of their biggest offering, â€?3 idiots’ last year, Sony Music released the music of My name is Khan on iTunes worldwide on 4 Jan 2010.
The music was released keeping in mind the global appeal of the music of films from producer Karan Johar’s stable This online launch was three days prior to the release of music in stores today.
With MNIK, Karan Johar and Sony Music have collaborated on their ninth album together. Their earlier collaborations include blockbusters like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Kaal, Dostana, Wake Up Sid and Kurbaan to its credit. Sony Music mentions these soundtracks have sold over a 20 million copies in total.
Sony Music had set new benchmarks in the industry with every Dharma Productions release – ranging from innovations in marketing, promotions and distribution.
