Sony Music recreates magic of ‘Piya Basanti’

MUMBAI:  Sony Music is back with the sequel of award-winning album ‘Piya Basanti’ that bagged the best pop album title in 2001.

The same team that worked on Piya Basanti has come together with seven original compositions and one remix. Ace music composer Sandesh Shandilya, weaves the rhythms in the soulful voices of Late Ustad Sultan Khan and renowned singer Chithra. The album will present the unheard melodies of Sultan Khan and includes a remix by DJ Rishabh .

Sony Music Entertainment India marketing director Sanujeet Bhujabal said, “Piya Basanti has been an iconic album in the early 2000 and the sequel promises to be the same and much more. We have kept the same nuances while creating this album and we are definite the songs will create the same magic as it did a decade ago.”

‘Piya Basanti…Again’ is slated to release by August-end and will  be available for digital downloads.

The hindi album won International Viewer’s Choice Award at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards in the Hindi pop genre, and was a runaway success certified with gold. It consisted of eight songs and two music videos for ‘Piya Basanti’ and ‘Surmayi Aankhen’.
