MUMBAI: After attaining success with films like Murder 3, Kai Po Che and more, Sony Music is further strengthening its foothold in bollywood. The music label has inked deal with Dharma Productions for three upcoming films- ‘Ungli’, ‘Gippi’ and ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’.
Each of the films feature an array of talented music composers, Salim-Sulaiman have composed for ‘Ungli’ and the other two films will witness compositions by talented duo Vishal-Shekhar.
Directed by Rensil D’silva, Ungli – a drama film, features Sanjay Dutt, Emraan Hashmi, Kangna Ranaut, Neha Dhupia and Randeep Hooda in the lead roles. The film is slated to release on 6 September, 2013.

The romantic comedy Gori Tere Pyaar Mein will be directed by Punit Malhotra and brings back the hit pair of Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor. As per reports, the film is stated to be musical and will feature five dance numbers. It is scheduled to release on 15 November 2013.
The third on the list is Gippi, a children’s film to be directed by debutant Sonam Nair. The film will release on 5 April 2013, and will have 13-year-old Riya Vij playing the lead role. This will be the first time that the production house will launch a lady director, and produce a movie just for kids.
“Last year was momentous for us with big musical hits in Agneepath, Student of the Year, Jannat 2, Rowdy Rathore, Barfi and Blood Money. We have begun this year with a bang with the music of Murder3, Kai Po Che and ABCD doing exceptionally well. The three film music deal with Dharma Productions will definitely add to our repertoire and continue our long standing relationship with the production house,” Sony Music India marketing director Sanujeet Bhujabal said in a statement.
He added, “We are aggressively planning innovations in marketing for each of these films to create a massive impact. We are confident that music enthusiasts will have a great musical year ahead.”
Bhujabal remained unavailable for comment at the time of filing this report.
