MUMBAI: While the turbulence between the neighbouring countries, India and Pakistan continue, the fact that many artists, from both the countries, have found inspiration across the border remains true. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, a Qawal and Sufi singer, who has also composed music for few Bollywood movies, has also inspired a generation of music composers.
The recently released Halka Halka Suroor from Fanney Khan is an example that his work still lives on. So, let’s have a look at few songs, inspired by songs, which are immortalized by the Pakistani legend. While the lyrics have been re-written for almost all songs, the catch-phrase and the basic tune have been retained.
