MUMBAI: Former Beatles member Sir Paul McCartney has cancelled his entire tour of Japan on account of illness. The 71 year old singer pulled out of several appearances after contracting a virus last week. Now his tour organisers- Kyodo Tokyo have revealed that he will be unable to perform the remainder of his Japan tour.
A statement released by organisers said that the English veteran rocker “will regrettably have to cancel the remaining Japanese shows. Paul is still not feeling better and this cancellation is unavoidable”.
The cancelled shows will also include the one he was supposed to perform at Nippon Budokan hall on Wednesday, which was where the Beatles played at in 1966, during their first tour of Japan. Another show, which was to be played at Osaka has also been cancelled.

McCartney’s official website for ‘Out There Japan Tour 2014’ says that the singer’s doctors have ordered him “complete rest”. He also posted a message on the site that said, “Thank you so much for your kind messages of support. I’d like to thank my Japanese fans for their love, messages of support and understanding,” McCartney said in a statement. “I hope to see you all again soon. Love, Paul.”
While McCartney has pulled out of the Japan shows, his concert on 28 May in Seoul, South Korea is still scheduled to happen, which will be followed by 19 shows in the US.
