MUMBAI: Ketan Mohite, a singer-songwriter from Mumbai, is also an artist and marketing manager at Furtados School of Music. Like everyone’s grail, he also notioned something big in his life, which came veracious in his first single Main Kaun Hoon that speaks more about his voyage and survival.
We perceive that once we send a vigorous message to the cosmos, we receive that back in form of dreams turning to be a reality. Such a leading light we have who belongs to the brightness of music. He spoke on what inspired him to make the song, “My major influence has been Lucky Ali followed by Shaan, The Beatles, and Tom Petty etc. The song was ready in my head, when the recording idea happened. I met Gino banks who played live drums and arranged music. He has been like a mentor followed by Rhythm Shaw (Prodigy) who played the guitar parts, Nyzel D’lima the man who played bass and also produced and mixed the song. Vasundhara Vee is the reason for my vocals. She has trained me, Gwen and Ryan Dias on backing vocals.”
He reveals the story on how the single got the title, Main Kaun Hoon, “On 25 May 2017, at around midnight, I was trying out my new Taylor guitar thinking of someone as an imaginary person, the lyrics just came in a single go. While playing the tune, I saw my reflection in the mirror that’s how the name Main Kaun Hoon happened.

On his experience in the making of the song, Ketan shares, “It was a different experience as I am an artist and marketing manager at Furtados School of Music. I have been travelling and in order to handle work and do music, I had to cut down my sleep to release my music.”
Ketan’s journey from being an Electrical Engineer to MBA Marketing professional and from his love for music to an artist manager began only because of his endearment and thirst for music. The minute he had entered the planet of music inspired by Lucky Ali, Shaan, KK, The Beatles, and Bon Jovi etc it was from then, there was no stomping boot and no looking back. Apart from being an artist and Marketing Manager, Ketan has other feathers in his proud titfer too. He has implementing and performing his originals at Prithvi theatre, since past three years, and other venues too. One of his compositions, Paani can be heard in the German short film Away.
