MUMBAI: Grammy award-winning soul singer Amy Winehouse, who had been struggling with an addiction problem, was found dead in her London flat in Camden on Saturday 23 July.
Reports suggest that the 27 years old singer went on a 36-hour binge session the day before her death, and consumed a cocktail of class â€?A’ drugs and alcohol.
Speaking on the circumstance of Amy death her spokesperson Chris Goodman said, “Amy was on her own at home apart from a security guard who we had appointed to help look after he over the past couple of years. She was in her bedroom after saying she wanted to sleep and when he went to wake her he found she wasn’t breathing. He called the emergency services straight away. He was very shocked. At this stage no-one knows how she died. She died alone in bed.”
Superintendent Raj Kohli of Metropolitan Police, insisted it was too early to determine the cause of death. He said, I am aware of reports suggesting this death is the result of a suspected drugs overdose, but I would like to re-emphasize that no post-mortem examination has yet taken place and it would be inappropriate to speculate on the cause of death. At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained and there have been no arrests in connection with the incident….
