MUMBAI: On Tuesday, under mysterious circumstances, singer Vijay Lakshmi, also known as Mallika Rajput, was discovered dead in her home, according to authorities.
According to reports, the 35-year-old singer’s body was discovered hanging from a fan in a room of her home in the Sitakund neighborhood in the Kotwali police station area.
Mallika’s mother Sumitra Singh said that she did not know when the incident took place as the family was sleeping.

However, he said the exact cause of death would be known when the postmortem report comes.
The family was asleep when the tragedy happened, according to Mallika’s mother Sumitra Singh.
