MUMBAI: Shipra Goyal, who is known for tracks like ‘Ishq Bulaava’ and ‘Yadaan Teriyaan’ launched her YouTube channel in October this year, and is treating her fans to an unplugged version of her songs every Thursday. The singer said that the idea to have her own YouTube came to her as fans were constantly asking her to release more material.
“A lot of my fans would keep asking me to sing a few songs for them and suggested that I should release more unplugged versions of the songs. This is why I started my own channel, which will also bring me closer to my fans. Additionally, they will also be able to see me singing live,” said Goyal.
Unlike a few other Bollywood singer that have tied-up with Multi Channel Networks for their YouTube channels, Goyal revealed that she will be running the content on her own. However, she hinted that fans would probably see a few collaborations on the channel. When quizzed about other unplugged material she has in store, the singer said, “I have not decided anything as of now but it will be something related to Diwali due to the current festivities.” She also added that most of the songs that appear on her YouTube channel are selected by fans, and a handful of them are her favourites.

More recently, Goyal rendered vocals for a Punjabi song ‘Mainu Ishq Lagaa’ from the film ‘Shareek’. The music of the film is composed by Jaidev Kumar and lyrics are penned by Davinder Khannewala. The track also features vocals by Shaukat Ali Matoi and Sanj V. Talking about the recording process for the track, the 24-year-old singer said, “The song was a little difficult as it had a lot of ‘harkat’ and was musically, quite strong, which is why it took me quite a while to dub it. But Jaidevji helped, and gave me a lot of encouragement to sing the track,”she explained.
Currently, Goyal is in Delhi with her parents for Diwali, and will be tied up with a few gigs.
