MUMBAI: A versatile vocalist and songwriter, Sherise performs, writes songs in various genres such as Pop, Country, Blues, Rock n Roll, Reggae, Pop, Western Classical, Jazz, as well as her own compositions. She is all set to perform at Hard Rock Cafe, today, with her unique five piece band Sherise D Souza Collective.
Her band, Sherise Dsouza Collective’ – is a high energy and versatile five-piece band that delivers super-charged performances for a wide range for requirements and audience profiles. The band derives its influences from varied genres such as Pop, Funk, Alternative, Country, Retro, Soul, Jazz and Classic Rock.
“This band started in April 2018 and there was no looking back. We kept getting shows across Mumbai, be it gigs or corporate shows. The vibe has always been positive and electric. We make sure that the sound is complete. Our USP is the different kind of music we play,” says Sherise.

Sherise derives her influences from singers of diverse genres like Madonna, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Sia, Ella Fitzgerald, Eva Cassidy, Rihanna, Inna, Sarah Vaughn, The Carpenters, Abba, Evanescence, Nadia Ali, Celine Dion, Shania Twain, Carrie Underwood, Sheryl Crow and Mariah Carey. Her favourite genre, to perform or enjoy include Pop numbers or Funk music. “I love playing retro too. But nothing can be compared to live music and getting instant reactions,” she exclaims.
In a nation, which is obsessed with popular or Bollywood music, Sherise says, her genre of music has an amazing response, “The response to live music is always good. It has actually caught on in recent years. It is very exciting to bring new concepts and ideas to the audience.”
Besides, Sherise says, in general also, the response to music in recent times has been amazing, “Be it Bollywood, rock or any genre, audience today is open for every kind of music and especially when this music is by independent musicians.”
For her upcoming performance at hard Rock Cafe, Sherise promises a high octane performance, “There will be something never experienced before by the audience.”
