MUMBAI: Rapper Brodha V, who will be sharing the NH7 stage this year with the maestros like A.R. Rahman, Thaikkudam Bridge and Raghu Dixit amongst others, is busy preparing for it with jamming sessions back home.
However, the biggest challenge for him at the moment is getting a drummer in place as the rapper’s original drummer left for Canada suddenly.
Brodha will be performing at NH7, Bangalore in December. “My main concern is to find a drummer. But, I am also excited about sharing the stage with A.R. Rahman. He has been an inspiration to almost every single musician. And sharing the same space with him will be an honour. This is a dream come true,” he said.

“I am going to make it a point to meet every single musician at NH7 for it’s a good way of making friends. So I will make sure that I make as many as I can,” he further added.
Simultaneously, Brodha is also working on a single with Benny Dayal. “The single is an all out fun song. It’s not a party song but one that everyone would like to dance on,” stated the ‘Aathma Raama’ hitmaker.

The single will also have a video. “We have been brain storming on a lot of ideas and a lot of random concepts. In fact, we are watching music videos from all across the globe to come up with something different for the video,” he added.
This is not the only single he is working on. While he is also busy with a few other collaborations, Brodha was loathe to let the cat out of the bag as yet.
Though there is a lot happening with collaborations, there is not much for the rapper in Bollywood and that’s because he has chosen to stay aloof till he gets the right project. “I am not consciously trying but I will be happy to work if I get the right project. I have refused offers in the past both in Bollywood and Tamil industry because I did not want to be filler in a song. I feel such things do not benefit the artist or the art form,” explained the Eminem fan.
The artist just believes in hard work and in his art hence, there are times when he works on a music piece even as many as fifty times. “It’s all about offering the best to my listeners at the end of the day,” he says.
And at the moment Brodha is in buoyed spirits with his latest production venture, where he produces jingles for ads as well as music for a show on Pogo. “I have a mini studio in the house but I still have a lot of things to buy to have a proper set-up,” he informs.
